Primary objective
Assist in the coordination and delivery of investment and attraction programs that engage skilled workers, international and
domestic investors, and increase awareness of the Northern Territory as an attractive trade and investment destination.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide effective project management to support the delivery of investment and attraction programs, contributing to the
development and implementation of identified projects, initiatives and events targeted at domestic and international
audiences.
2. Collaborate with identified stakeholders to support the implementation of partnership agreement deliverables, in line
with the department’s strategic priorities and governance frameworks.
3. Project manage stakeholder engagement reporting to inform future program and event opportunities.
4. Prepare project plans, reports, ministerial correspondence, speech notes, promotional materials, and other written
materials as required.
5. Liaise and communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including event partners, business and
industry stakeholders and suppliers to achieve organisational objectives.
6. Foster a productive workplace culture through positive leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Practical project management experience including project scheduling, reporting processes, stakeholder management,
problem solving and operating within budget and timeframes.
2. Experience in the development of business events or programs with a promotion and engagement focus and proven
ability to interpret the political, social, and organisational environment when developing and managing initiatives.
3. Well-developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare content and communications to a
range of external audiences, including emails, letters, reports and ministerial correspondence.
4. Proven high level interpersonal, collaborative and problem-solving skills demonstrating the ability to build, nurture and
sustain positive industry and stakeholder relationships, and communicate with influence.
5. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time with a strong client focus.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of financial and governance processes and the ability to prepare and track budgets.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of the Department’s role within the business community.
2. Current NT Driver’s licence or ability to obtain
