Verandah Precinct is one of the flagship venues within the Tilley & Wills Hospitality Group, an independent hospitality operator with a long-standing presence across Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide — encompassing corporate bars, community pubs, entertainment venues and fine dining establishments.
The Role
We're looking for a talented Chef to join the Social Dining kitchen. This is a genuinely rare opportunity in hospitality: our venue trades Monday to Friday, lunch only, and is closed on weekends — meaning your weekends are your own!
You'll be part of a close-knit team delivering a high-volume, high-quality lunch service to Sydney's CBD crowd, with the consistency and pride that comes from a well-run, seasonally driven kitchen.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and executing seasonal menu items to a consistently high standard during lunch service- Working with premium, fresh produce — including house-made pastas, quality cuts and seafood
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and kitchen presentation standards
- Supporting stock control, ordering and minimising wastage
- Working collaboratively with the broader kitchen and floor team to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Bringing ideas and energy to seasonal menu development
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a similar CBD restaurant, hotel or high-volume kitchen environment- Solid knife skills and a strong grounding in modern Australian or European cooking styles
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude under pressure
- Genuine care for food quality, consistency and presentation
- Current food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Right to work in Australia
