As the Manager (Bus Fleet), you will lead the delivery of a significant bus fleet investment by TMR, coordinating the introduction of a substantial number of buses to TMR's fleet each year. You will oversee the commercial and operational aspects of fleet management and be responsible for the strategic stewardship of our growing bus fleet.
By building strong partnerships across the supply chain, you will drive value-for-money outcomes through effective contract, supplier and asset lifecycle management. Leading a dynamic and evolving function, you will champion continuous improvement and help shape the future direction of fleet asset management at TMR.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and develop a team of staff and consultants who manage large-scale commercial fleet supply arrangements and lease agreements, ensuring the obligations from all parties are delivered. Allocate resources for the management of key contracts within the team. Support team members in career development and conduct recruitment activities.
- Lead the governance and lifecycle management of the TMR-owned fleet, ensuring TMR has the capability, controls, systems and commercial arrangements required to effectively manage a growing transport asset portfolio.
- Build and sustain strong professional relationships with external parties (fleet manufacturers, suppliers, and transport service providers) and internal stakeholders to ensure contracts are managed within required guidelines. Be a key point of contact on behalf of the TMR to monitor performance.
- Conduct evidence-based analysis on contract performance metrics to determine strategies to improve customer outcomes and provide recommendations to senior executives.
- Lead negotiations in procurement activities through the development of clear and concise contractual documentation.
- Lead by example by modeling ethical decision-making processes and abiding by government probity requirements.
