Overview:
About Us
At Palm Lake Care, care isn’t just what we do it’s who we are. As a proud, family owned organisation, we’ve built our reputation on values that put people first. Across our seven premium aged care communities, we provide personalised residential, respite, and palliative care in vibrant, welcoming environments where every resident feels truly valued.
Palm Lake Care is one of Queensland’s leading residential aged care providers, proudly operating across seven communities from Toowoomba to Bethania. We’re growing our People & Culture team and looking for a People Advisor to be based in Toowoomba, working closely with our People Business Partner to support the people who make our communities feel like home.
About the Role
This isn’t a back-office HR job. As our People Advisor, you’ll be embedded in the Toowoomba community, working shoulder-to-shoulder with leaders and staff to solve real people problems in real time from Award interpretation to day-to-day employee support. You’ll play a genuine part in shaping how our people experience their work, every single day.
You’ll support your People Business Partner across one of three specialist portfolios – Talent, Industrial Relations & Safety, or Performance & Engagement – giving you the chance to build deep expertise while staying connected to the operational heartbeat of aged care.
What You'll Do
-
Be the trusted, on-the-ground people contact for leaders and staff at our Toowoomba community
-
Provide practical, timely advice on employment conditions under the Aged Care Award 2010 and Nurses Award 2020
-
Support your People Business Partner across recruitment, onboarding, performance, and employee relations matters
-
Help managers navigate day-to-day people issues with confidence and consistency
-
Contribute to a modern People & Culture function that’s investing in better data and better support for our people
What We're Looking For
-
Experience in a generalist HR, ER, or people support role – aged care or health experience highly regarded, but not essential
-
Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and modern awards (or a genuine appetite to build it fast)
-
A relationship-first mindset – you’d rather be on-site solving problems than buried in a ticketing queue
-
Someone who thrives on variety, works with sound judgement, and treats every conversation with the care it deserves
Why Palm Lake Care
-
Be part of a genuinely values-led, community-focused organisation
-
A People & Culture team investing seriously in its people – better tools, clearer career paths, real support
-
Access to Sonder, our confidential Employee Assistance Program, for you and your family
-
A role where the impact of your work is visible – in the wellbeing of our staff and the residents they care for
