About the Role:
As the Senior Advisor - Compliance, Reporting and Assurance, you will lead a small team responsible for managing the site’s compliance register and coordinating government and corporate reporting against project approval requirements. This will include overseeing the assurance and verification of reported data, maintaining approvals governance processes, and coordinating the Independent Expert Panels and Independent Monitor processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Glencore’s SafeWork protocols and processes to maintain a safe working environment.
- Lead and develop team members, allocating and monitoring workloads while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Manage and maintain the site compliance register to support compliance with statutory, corporate and project approval requirements.
- Coordinate and review government and corporate reporting, including the assurance and verification of reported data.
- Maintain approvals governance processes and provide clear, consistent advice on environmental compliance and approval requirements.
- Coordinate the Independent Expert Panels and Independent Monitor processes, including engagement with internal stakeholders, external specialists, auditors, government agencies and panel members.
- Prepare and review high-quality documentation for internal stakeholders, government agencies and other external parties.
- Lead and manage internal and external audits against relevant compliance and assurance requirements.
- Undertake environmental and compliance inspections, identify improvement opportunities and ensure resulting actions are appropriately managed and closed out.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
- Proven leadership and people-management experience, with the ability to develop capability and drive team performance.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, approvals governance or assurance, preferably within the mining or resources sector.
- Strong knowledge of mining operations, environmental management systems and statutory approval processes.
- Strong analytical and data-review skills, with demonstrated attention to accuracy, consistency and quality assurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, government agencies, auditors and technical specialists.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
