Rocklea Abrasive Blasting is a well-established Queensland-based company specializing in abrasive blasting, industrial painting, and protective coating services. With over 25 years of industry experience, the company delivers high-quality surface preparation and coating solutions to clients across the transport, manufacturing, mining, marine, and construction sectors.
We are now looking to recruit a Painter to join our dedicated and professional service team on a full time and permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Applies paint, protective coatings, and other finishes to metal surfaces, equipment, and structures to protect against corrosion, enhance durability, and meet client specifications.
Duties:
- Prepare metal surfaces for painting through abrasive blasting, sanding, cleaning, and other surface preparation methods.
- Apply industrial coatings, primers, and paints using spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
- Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment, including blast pots, airless spray units, and associated tools.
- Read and interpret paint specifications, technical data sheets, and manufacturer application instructions.
- Inspect completed work to ensure coating quality, thickness, and finish meet required standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with workplace health and safety procedures.
- Handle and store paints, coatings, and related materials in accordance with safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III (or equivalent), including at least two years of on-the-job training,
- OR Certificate IV (or Equivalent)
Experience:
- Experience in industrial painting and sandblasting
- At least three years of relevant experience
Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledge of different painting techniques and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret paint specifications.
- A strong work ethic and attention to details.
