Your Future Role:
We're seeking a Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join our team, working across both our Milton and Project office. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, ANZ, you'll be at the heart of the Sector 1 North (S1N) Project, a landmark rail initiative critical to the network, the community, and Brisbane's build-up to the 2032 Olympics. You'll be the principal advisor to the Project Director on all things communications and engagement, working closely with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads to keep communities informed, engaged, and confident as construction progresses.
As the Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will:
- Develop and deliver a Communication and Engagement Plan (CEP) covering the full design, construction, testing and commissioning lifecycle, ensuring the community and key stakeholders always have a clear channel to be heard.
- Lead consultation with local communities and stakeholders on construction and commissioning impacts, building trust through transparent, proactive engagement.
- Develop tailored strategies to manage disruption from live rail possessions, working closely with Translink, Queensland Rail and TMR's North Coast Region team.
- Design and maintain a Communications Control Plan covering traffic impacts, variable message signage, and advisories to schools, transport operators, emergency services and the community.
- Own the project's call centre and hotline, ensuring enquiries and complaints are handled promptly and resolved to a high standard.
- Produce compelling content across social and traditional channels — including photography, video and event coordination to keep the project's story front and centre.
- Proactively identify stakeholder risks and issues before they escalate, advising the State early and recommending a clear course of action.
- Deliver accurate, high-quality monthly and milestone reporting to the State on all communications and engagement activity.
All About You:
- Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or equivalent proven experience.
- Extensive experience in a similar role on major infrastructure or transport projects, with hands-on experience managing events and community/stakeholder engagement.
- Politically savvy, with experience working in or alongside government and media.
- Confident using social platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and digital tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator; strong MS365 skills. IAP2 qualification a plus.
- Strong writing, content creation and video editing capability, paired with genuine strategic thinking.
- Senior presence and gravitas, able to influence and build relationships at every level of the organisation and beyond.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving project environment, comfortable setting up processes while still delivering hands-on.
- Highly organised, reliable, and ready to problem-solve on the move.
- Willing to travel across Queensland, with occasional interstate travel as needed.
