You’re agile, keen and open to meaningful work and opportunities that come your way.
You're looking to contribute to the transformation of the transport sector towards a greener and more sustainable future. You want to actively participate in shaping policies and initiatives that reduce carbon emissions, promote renewable energy adoption, and enhance the overall environmental performance of the transport network.
In this role, you'll:
Work as part of our Newcastle based Roads and Maritime Operations team delivering high‑quality environmental impact assessment, environmental management and sustainability outcomes across Transport for NSW projects, programs and operations, including the construction, maintenance and operation of roads, bridges and maritime assets across the Hunter and Central Coast.
Provide expert advice, identify and manage environmental risks, support compliance with legislation, and contribute to strategies that improve environmental and sustainability performance.
You will lead and influence the application of best‑practice environmental processes and new ways of improving performance in a complex, deadline‑driven and high‑impact operating environment.
This role is based at Newcastle and will require travel to conduct onsite inspections across the Hunter and Central Coast region.

- You're recognised as a proactive collaborator, skilled at interpreting environmental legislation, assessing environmental impacts, identifying and managing risks, and guiding project and maintenance teams to achieve compliance and sustainability objectives.
- You are experienced in applying environmental and sustainability frameworks, undertaking inspections and audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that support the safe, sustainable and responsible delivery and maintenance of transport infrastructure assets across NSW.
