About Kinyara Health
Kinyara Health is a business with a unique mission to keep personal, local care alive for ageing Australians and people living with disability to find their forever home care in one of our remarkable community brands, based in Victoria, NSW and South Australia. In the face of industry reform, we’ve doubled down on this commitment and as a result, we’ve grown at pace into the hearts and homes of more Australians than ever before.
Our unique service model sets us up for success – where community-founded businesses of up to 45 years have legacies honoured through strong local service, enabled by Kinyara shared services and a technology forward approach that never compromises client experience and community connection.
Through significant growth and reform transition we remain deeply anchored to our community mission, quality standards and culture that invites high performers driven to make an impact.
The Opportunity
Homewell, part of Kinyara Health, is a boutique community care provider serving Melbourne's North and Northwest for over 30 years. Known for its strong community connections, Homewell supports more than 300 ageing Australians and people living with disability to remain safe, independent and connected in their own homes.
As General Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance and future direction of Homewell, bringing together client experience, service delivery, people leadership and commercial outcomes to ensure the business continues to thrive in a rapidly changing sector.
This is an opportunity to lead a business with genuine purpose, strong foundations and a trusted reputation built over decades. You'll have the backing of Kinyara's shared services model, access to experienced executive peers and the autonomy to make a meaningful impact on clients, employees and the broader community.
You'll join an Executive Leadership Team that believes leaders are not just drivers of performance, but creators of culture. Deep honesty, openness and self-reflection are part of our leadership DNA and among the true drivers of our success. We value leaders who are willing to do the inner work, stay connected to their purpose and lead with both courage and humility. By keeping your own 'why' in focus, you'll help create an environment where people can perform, grow and experience genuine joy at work.
Key responsibilities:
-
Champion a human-centred experience that delivers dignity, independence and exceptional outcomes for clients and families.
-
Build a One Team culture of kindness, courage, excellence and accountability, fostering high engagement, high performance and joy at work.
-
Own the performance of the business end-to-end, balancing client outcomes, employee experience, growth and financial sustainability to ensure Homewell continues to thrive.
-
Develop and lead a high-performing leadership team, creating alignment, accountability and strong succession capability across the business.
-
Embed scalable, reliable ways of working, leveraging technology and shared services to strengthen operational excellence.
-
Strengthen Homewell's impact within the community, identifying opportunities to grow our reach, services and client outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced senior leader who has grown beyond functional leadership into true general management. You've spent years balancing people, performance, service delivery, growth and financial outcomes, understanding that no single part of a business succeeds in isolation and that meaningful impact is achieved through others.
You've learned that great businesses aren't built through heroics. They're built through strong, purpose-driven leaders, healthy cultures, disciplined execution and a relentless focus on the people you serve.
You blend a deeply caring heart with a smart, curious and commercially astute mind. You bring clarity, warmth and disciplined execution to a fast-growing environment, translating strategy into day-to-day operations that run like a Swiss watch and feel like a warm hug.
Our ideal candidate will also bring:
-
Demonstrated experience carrying end-to-end accountability for a business, business unit or significant operational portfolio, including people, performance, growth and financial outcomes.
-
Proven ability to lead through change, bringing people with you while embedding new ways of working.
-
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance client outcomes, employee experience and sustainable business performance.
-
Demonstrated success translating strategy into practical action and operational results.
-
Demonstrated success developing leaders and building leadership capability, creating teams that perform, grow and thrive through others.
-
The judgement, resilience and self-awareness to navigate complexity, make difficult decisions and maintain momentum through periods of growth, change and reform.
-
A deeply Caring Heart paired with a curious, commercially minded approach, valuing measurable community impact as the highest reward for your contributions.
