Job Title: Banh Mi Store Team Member — FOH & BOH
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking team member to join our banh mi store. This role will start mainly in front of house, helping customers and keeping the service area running smoothly, before gradually being trained in back of house food preparation and kitchen tasks.
This position is suited to someone who is friendly, fast-moving, clean, and willing to learn. No banh mi experience is required, but previous hospitality, café, takeaway, kitchen, or customer service experience is helpful.
Main Duties
Front of House — Starting Role
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional way
- Take customer orders accurately
- Use the POS/register and handle payments
- Pack food orders correctly
- Prepare drinks when needed
- Keep the front counter, display area, and customer area clean
- Restock bags, napkins, drinks, sauces, and other FOH items
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and other team members
- Help manage busy service periods calmly and efficiently
Back of House — Training Progression
Once confident in FOH, you will be trained in BOH tasks such as:
- Preparing banh mi ingredients
- Washing, cutting, and storing vegetables
- Portioning meats and fillings
- Toasting bread and assembling banh mi correctly
- Following store recipes and food prep procedures
- Cleaning benches, equipment, trays, and kitchen areas
- Washing dishes and maintaining hygiene standards
- Rotating stock and helping with basic stock checks
- Following food safety and temperature control procedures

Requirements
- Availability during store trading hours
- Ability to work weekdays and/or Saturdays
- Basic English communication skills
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred but not required
- Food safety knowledge is helpful but training can be provided
Role Progression
The role will begin with FOH duties, including customer service, orders, packing, drinks, cleaning, and restocking. As you become more confident, you will be trained in BOH duties, including food prep, banh mi assembly, ingredient handling, and kitchen systems.
For the right person, there may be opportunities to take on more responsibility, including opening tasks, stock checks, training new staff, and shift leadership.
