Provide technical support for teaching and research in horticulture and applied sciences.
The Opportunity
You will deliver technical support across teaching and research activities within the Applied Science team, with a focus on horticulture and agriculture-related disciplines. This includes preparing materials, equipment and teaching spaces for undergraduate practical classes, and providing in-class technical support to ensure safe and effective use of laboratory and field-based environments.
Support research activities by assisting students and academic staff with equipment use, ordering supplies and maintaining research facilities. Your role will involve working across a range of environments including laboratories, glasshouses, greenhouses and other intensive cropping facilities, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet required standards.
Maintain and calibrate specialised equipment, manage consumables and support procurement processes. You will contribute to safety and compliance by maintaining chemical inventories, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and University requirements. You will also assist with documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across technical services.

About You

Degree in Horticultural or Agricultural Sciences, or equivalent experience.

Experience supporting practical teaching or research in horticulture or labs.

Demonstrated ability to manage equipment, materials and facility operations.

Strong problem-solving, organisational and planning skills.

Clear communication skills with ability to support staff and students.
