Wesfresh is looking for a reliable and motivated Casual Butcher to join our retail team in Blacktown.
Butcher experience is preferred, but not essential. We also welcome applications from chefs, kitchen staff, or candidates with strong knife-handling skills who are interested in developing a career in the meat industry.
About the Role
You’ll work as part of our retail butcher team, preparing and presenting fresh meat products while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality and customer service.
Hours: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
Days: Monday to Thursday and Saturday
Start: Immediate start available for the right candidate
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cut fresh meat for display and customer orders
- Slice and tray-pack meat products
- Make sausages and prepare crumbed, seasoned and marinated products
- Weigh, pack and label products
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
- Follow food safety and workplace health and safety procedures
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Work as part of a supportive retail team
What We’re Looking For
- Previous butcher experience is preferred, but not essential
- Strong knife-handling skills
- Chef or kitchen experience is welcome
- Bandsaw experience is an advantage
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Reliable, hardworking and physically fit
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Certificate III in Meat Processing is an advantage, but not essential
