The Opportunity
Due to a parental leave cover requirement, we are seeking a Technical Training Specialist to support our General Insurance function, joining our Learning and Capability team for a period of 12 months.
In this role, you will support staff transition into their operational roles through training of processes, systems and platforms in the operational environment. You will partner with the local business operation to understand technical claims management capability requirements and to design, develop, facilitate, coach, monitor and evaluate claims technical training initiatives to drive performance within the operation.
Reporting to the Manager – Strategy and Implementation, you will be aligned with our claims and technical personnel for coaching, development and capability improvement activities. This is an exceptional opportunity to bring your existing skills and experience to a role which truly adds value to the development of our people and service offerings.
Additionally, you will:

Design and develop claims technical training programs and assessments (including new starter program), aligned to the Gallagher Bassett (GB) competency framework across a number of delivery methods including multiple digital options (webinar, eLearning, microlearning);

Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we work in partnership to address training and/or deliver programs aligned to business requirements;

Partner with external stakeholders and key managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) regarding training material relevance, accuracy and alignment to business needs;

Facilitate training programs for your assigned business unit and clients as per the training schedules;

Provide on the job coaching support to new starters and others as identified to fast track an individual’s competence on the job;

Facilitate holistic on-the-job competency-based assessments to identify knowledge and development gaps and provide feedback on performance;

Stay abreast of regulatory and legislative changes, changes to procedures and technology and ensure the delivery of relevant information to the Operations Teams;

Maintain a high level of product knowledge pertinent to relevant client;

Understand Operational systems, processes and procedures to ensure staff queries can be addressed and communicated effectively;

In liaison with the relevant Team Manager and Branch Managers, ensure that capability gaps are identified, addressed and monitored to the required standard of performance; identify gaps instantly staff knowledge/skills, & develop necessary programs or coaching solutions to meet the needs of individual staff;

Develop, implement and maintain ‘Skills Matrix’ aligned to different job roles to ensure competency levels are improved and/or met. Prepare reports and details of coaching delivered;

Maintain records of learning and development activities and report on employee progress utilising GB’s learning management system;

Monitor effectiveness of programs/courses based on manager and employee feedback and proactively identify continuous improvements to leadership teams;

Actively participate in team meetings and project activities as required.
