The Earlwood-Bardwell Park RSL Club (“EBP RSL Club”) offers various activities and services to its members and the local community. The Club provides facilities for social gatherings, dining experiences, entertainment, and hospitality services.
We are seeking qualified, experienced and dedicated full-time Chef to join our team at Earlwood-Bardwell Park RSL Club. Our venue operates a full-service restaurant offering high-quality casual dining experiences. Position Overview
The Chef is responsible for overseeing culinary operations, preparing and cooking high-quality meals, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The role also involves menu planning, stock control, kitchen coordination, and maintaining a high standard of food quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking a range of grill-house dishes, including steaks, burgers, ribs, wings, sides and other casual dining meals, ensuring that all items are prepared consistently and in accordance with the restaurant’s recipes and presentation standards;
- Monitoring the quality, taste, portioning, and presentation of dishes at all stages of preparation and service to ensure customers receive food of a high and consistent standard;
- Ordering, receiving, and monitoring food supplies, including meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other kitchen ingredients, and ensuring stock levels are sufficient for lunch, dinner and peak service periods;
- Discussing food preparation, kitchen workflow, customer dietary requirements and service issues with managers, kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient restaurant operations;
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance to kitchen staff in relation to grilling, frying, seasoning, plating, food preparation procedures and safe handling of ingredients;
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements, including the proper storage, handling, preparation and cooking of food;
- Supervising kitchen staff during service, allocating tasks, monitoring work performance and assisting with training where required;
- Assisting with the preservation, storage and preparation of food items, including portioning, freezing and maintaining ingredients in accordance with food safety standards;
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment to support the restaurant’s casual dining service and customer expectations;
- Assisting with recruitment, training and mentoring of kitchen staff where required;
- Coordinating and supervising bar, restaurant and function services to ensure efficient daily operations and a high standard of customer service;
To Be Successful In This Role You Must Have
- At least a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery;
- Minimum one year of experience working as a Chef;
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards;
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

- Cooking Skills: Strong food preparation and cooking technique knowledge across a range of dishes;
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure during busy service periods;
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house staff;
- Leadership Skills: Ability to supervise, train and support kitchen staff.

Pay: $76,515.00 per year
