About the Role
Due to continued growth, Contract Resources (CR) is seeking experienced and safety-focused High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) / Ultra High Pressure (UHP) Operators to support the successful delivery of fabric maintenance & protective coating scopes in 2026.
Working within a high-performing team, you will be responsible for operating high/ultra high pressure water jetting equipment to achieve project specifications and surface preparation standards while maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality and productivity.
This is a hands-on role suited to operators with a strong background in industrial blasting and coatings environments who thrive in fast-paced project settings and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Duties will include but are not limited to
- Operating Ultra High Pressure (UHP) water blasting equipment for surface preparation activities
- Preparing steel and industrial assets for protective coating application
- Performing coating removal, surface cleaning and asset preparation works
- Performing internal vessel cleaning and maintenance activities
- Conducting heat exchanger tube bundle cleaning using specialised UHP equipment
- Inspecting equipment prior to use and conducting routine operational checks
- Working in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements and surface preparation standards
- Supporting industrial painting and coatings crews as required
- Working in confined spaces and at heights where project activities require
- Completing pre-start inspections, JSAs, Take 5s and other safety documentation
- Identifying hazards, reporting risks and contributing to a proactive safety culture
- Maintaining housekeeping standards across work fronts and project areas
- Collaborating with supervisors, inspectors and project personnel to achieve project milestones
- Ensuring strict compliance with all Work Health, Safety, Environment and Quality requirements
Requirements & Experience Needed
- MSMSS00018: Operate High Pressure Water Jetting System (essential)
- Demonstrated experience operating UHP water blasting equipment within industrial environments (essential)
- Previous experience on industrial coatings or surface preparation projects using UHP water jetting equipment (highly desirable)
- Experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, Mining or Heavy Industrial environments (desirable)
- Construction White Card (essential)
- Working Safely at Heights (within 2 years – essential)
- Enter & Work in Confined Spaces (within 2 years – essential)
- Gas Test Atmosphere (within 2 years – desirable)
- Current Driver's Licence (essential)
- Vacuum Loading Operations ticket or experience (advantageous)
- Breathing Apparatus/BA (desirable)
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance
- Ability to work day and night shifts, including weekends where required
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
