About us
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
The Corporate Strategy and Delivery group delivers essential corporate and enabling services and specialist support, allowing the department to operate efficiently and effectively.
Data, Performance and Governance is tasked with supporting the Chief Operating Officer in leading the department's agenda in delivery of justice and community safety services in Victoria by providing a strong evidence base for the development of effective policy and organisational management.
Ministerial Services is responsible for, among other things, statutory appointments, the coordination of Cabinet and Committees, Parliament and legislation, coordination of DJCS entity annual reports, and departmental liaison staff in Ministerial Offices.
What you will do
As Administration and Information Officer, you will support the Office of the Attorney General or Minister for Police. You will provide high-level administration and reception support to the office.
You will:
- provide high-quality service by answering public calls, managing visitors and handling enquiries.
- provide organised administration and support for the minister's office and senior staff.
- manage the minister's inbox and process correspondence accurately and promptly.
- support senior staff with information requests, correspondence and other office tasks.
- use sound judgement when handling sensitive information, confidential documents and public enquiries.
About you
No mandatory qualification is listed for this role. Experience working in a government setting would be desirable.
You should also have:
- technical skills using Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Pro.
- government knowledge and an understanding of public sector processes.
- flexibility to manage changing priorities and work with different teams.
- sound judgement to solve problems and handle difficult conversations calmly.
