Your role
The Department of Communities and Justice directly supports approximately 800,000 people every year and reaches a further million people through local community-based programs.
Our Housing Service branch is one of the largest providers of social housing in the world.
The Business Support Assistant works in a high-pressure environment to support team members and the operation unit.
You will support WS District by administrating their mailboxes and working as the conduit between Client Service Teams and relevant stakeholders. As the Business Support Assistant within a team, you will be responsible in managing all administrative tasks, responding to administrative enquiries and supporting the team with dispersing workload from Outlook mailboxes and other internal systems to relevant members within the team.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will:
Support the effective operations of the team by providing administrative services such as filing, attending to mail, maintaining registers, photocopying, completing documents, routine purchasing and supporting events.
Collect and compile information to develop documents and repots.
Respond to enquiries and escalate matters when necessary to ensure the provision of accurate information.
Ensure records and databases are updated, accurate, and stored correctly in accordance with records management processes.
Data entry into specialised software including payments for rent and water usage
Managing correspondence from agents/landlords including but not limited to requests for routine inspections, smoke alarm inspections and other requests for maintenance
Managing rent adjustment, account enquiries and vendor management

The ability to work under pressure with high work volumes while maintaining the ability to support the business.
Attention to detail to deliver accurate and consistent work.
Experience providing customer service to various clients.
