Job Title: Carpenter
Reports To: Head of Construction / Factory Manager
Role Summary
The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, assembling and finishing prefabricated modular buildings within the factory, ensuring all work meets Keep Modular's quality standards, Australian Standards, NCC requirements and project specifications. The role requires a strong focus on craftsmanship, efficiency, teamwork and workplace safety to deliver high quality modular buildings ready for transport and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct wall, floor and roof framing in accordance with engineering drawings and production documentation.
- Install structural components, cladding, linings, insulation, windows, doors and internal finishes.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural and shop drawings.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail throughout all stages of production.
- Work collaboratively with electricians, plumbers, plasterers, painters and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Assist with module preparation for transport, including securing components and completing quality checks.
- Identify and report defects, material shortages or production issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
- Follow all WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase production efficiency and quality.
- Support site installation teams when required.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Carpenter (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent).
- Experience in residential construction, modular construction or prefabrication is highly regarded.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of Australian building practices and construction methods.
- Competent using a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Current White Card.
- Current driver's licence preferred.
- Forklift, EWP or dogging tickets are advantageous but not essential.

Pay: $35.06 – $60.80 per hour
