Mobile Gate Motor Technician We are looking for a Mobile Gate Motor Technician to join our growing gate automation business in Melbourne. This is a field-based role working across Melbourne, attending residential and commercial properties to diagnose, repair, service and install automatic gate systems. The Role Your day-to-day work will include: - Diagnosing faults with automatic sliding and swing gates - Repairing and replacing gate motors, control boards, receivers, remotes and accessories - Installing new gate motors and automation systems - Programming control boards, remotes, limits and safety devices - Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical gate faults - Installing and diagnosing photocells, safety beams, keypads and access-control accessories - Performing preventative servicing and maintenance - Speaking directly with customers and explaining repair options - Providing recommendations and quotes for required repairs - Completing job reports and documenting work performed - Travelling between jobs throughout Melbourne in a company vehicle About You We are looking for someone who is practical, technically minded and confident working independently. Experience in one or more of the following would be highly regarded: - Automatic gates and gate motors - Automatic doors - Garage doors - Access control - Electrical or electronic fault finding - Industrial automation - Security systems - Mechanical servicing or field-service work Previous gate automation experience is highly desirable, but not essential for the right technically capable person. Training can be provided. You should have: - Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills - Good mechanical aptitude - Basic electrical/electronic knowledge - Confidence using hand and power tools - Good communication and customer-service skills - Ability to work independently and manage your daily jobs - A professional and reliable attitude - Valid Australian driver's licence An electrical licence or electrical trade background is an advantage but is not essential for the role.
