Lead reliability at one of Australia's largest food manufacturing facilities!
At JBS Dinmore, the largest and most respected beef processing plants in the southern hemisphere, we are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our Maintenance Leadership Team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities within the abattoir, ensuring equipment reliability, compliance with WHS standards, and minimal downtime. This role manages maintenance teams, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance This is a full-time role with annual salary higher than $120,000 plus Superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
· Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and food safety standards during maintenance operations.
· Manage maintenance team performance, rosters, and resource allocation.
· Monitor equipment reliability and implement strategies to reduce downtime.
· Coordinate with Production, QA, and Engineering to resolve technical issues promptly.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and equipment history.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
· Ensure compliance with statutory inspections and regulatory requirements.
· Support capital projects and installation of new equipment.
· Encourage open communication so staff feel comfortable reporting hazards, equipment issues, or training needs.
· Reinforce teamwork between maintenance, operations, and QA, helping everyone understand the impact of their role on plant performance and food safety.
· Serve as a trusted point of contact for technical questions, offering approachable and supportive guidance.
· Additional tasks as requested by your supervisor or management.
About You
· Extensive experience in industrial maintenance within food processing or manufacturing.
· Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
· Understanding of WHS, environmental, and food safety compliance.
· Leadership and team management skills.
· Ability to analyse data and implement reliability improvement strategies.
· Trade qualification or engineering degree.
· Experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
· Knowledge of Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
