Due to continued growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sports Development Officer (Football Coach) to join our professional coaching team.
About the Role
As a Sports Development Officer, you will play a key role in the planning, delivery, and development of football programs for players of various ages and abilities. You will work closely with coaches, players, parents, and sporting organisations to create a positive, high-performance learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and supervise structured football coaching sessions.
- Develop players' technical, tactical, physical and mental skills.
- Analyse player performance and provide individual coaching and feedback.
- Design age-appropriate training programs and match strategies.
- Mentor and motivate players while promoting teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting talented young athletes.
- Coordinate player participation in football competitions, tournaments and development programs.
- Liaise with parents, coaches and sporting organisations regarding player development.
- Promote football participation through community engagement, school programs and academy events.
- Ensure all coaching activities comply with Football Australia guidelines and relevant safety requirements.
- Assist with academy administration and program development as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least one year of relevant experience in football coaching, player development or sports program delivery.
- A sound understanding of football coaching techniques, tactical play and player development.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to work effectively with children, teenagers and young adults.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A genuine passion for developing young football players.
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Relevant coaching qualifications will be highly regarded.
