Position Descriptor:
Port Augusta West Childhood Service Centre is situated on the West Side of Port Augusta providing high quality teaching and learning to children from ages 3 to 5.
The Port Augusta West Childhood Services Centre is seeking an Early Childhood Worker for the Inclusive Preschool Outreach Program.
This position involves working within the Inclusive Preschool Program supporting the IPP teacher and a maximum of 6 children with high level and complex needs. Knowledge of and/or experience in supporting children with additional needs (including experience in working with Augmented Communication Systems such as Board maker, PODDs and other supportive resources) is critical to the position. Experience in working with Autistic children is desirable but not essential.
The candidate will be required to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, having effective communication skills, showing initiative, professionalism, organisation, and commitment.
The position also requires the establishment and maintenance of positive working relationships with families and the wider community.
Please note the salary amount may differ from that advertised. Salary is dependent upon your current employment status with the Department for Education, tenure and hours per week. The salary stated is based on an employee working 52 weeks per annum, full time equivalent. The successful applicant will be employed under the appropriate mode of employment.
Please note that part time and flexible arrangements will be considered.
