About the role:
In this hands-on role, you will assist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Burke Shire’s water and wastewater treatment plants. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring safe, reliable water services by:
- Monitoring plant performance, recording and reporting test results
- Collecting water and wastewater samples for analysis
- Operating treatment plant equipment and applying safe chemical handling
- Supporting compliance with health, environmental, and regulatory standards
You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues and assisting with fault-finding and corrective actions.

What We’re Looking For:
- Current open (manual) driver’s licence
- Safety-first attitude with strong communication and numeracy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated experience with SCADA systems or similar monitoring tools (preferred)
- Willingness to complete a Cert III in Water Operations (if not already held)
Traineeship Option: This position can also be offered as a traineeship for those looking to start a career in water operations.
This is a Full-Time position with a negotiable commencement salary dependent upon qualifications, experience and tickets held.
