Cairns Hospital's Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) offers a continuity of care model that enables women to build a therapeutic relationship with a known midwife throughout their maternity journey. The service is committed to providing safe, evidence-based, woman-centred care and works collaboratively with obstetric, medical and allied health teams to support individualised care planning and positive birth experiences.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will.....
Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate patient care activities at an advanced practitioner level within the specified clinical setting.
Assist the Midwifery Unit Manager to implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
Support the general function of the MGP model through role modelling and application of principles of contemporary, evidence based, person focused midwifery care.
Participates in and supports the performance and development planning of self and others.
Understands broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare and actively participates in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace.
