Receptionist – Student Services
Melbourne Grammar School has an exciting opportunity for Receptionist - Student Services to join our South Yarra Campus. This role is a primary customer service contact for School and maintains accurate records of student attendance and provides administrative support to the key members of staff. The role involves working closely with the Heads of House assisting with ad hoc administration contributing to the effectiveness of the Student Services programming and events.
The Receptionist – Student Services is responsible for the efficient delivery of administrative procedures, ranging from database maintenance and accurate recording of student absences. through to general administrative support. This position will require excellent attention to detail, and the ability to maintain relationships with key members of the School and broader community.
As a key point of contact within the School, the role ensures a welcoming and professional reception service, managing enquiries, coordinating visitors, and supporting general office operations. Through these combined responsibilities, the position contributes to a well-organised, responsive, and student-focused environment.
You will:

Provide administrative support and assist the Head of Student Development Assisting Heads of House (HOH) with administrative support related to Student Services programs and events

Prepare and distribute a consolidated list of students who missed one or more classes for the previous day, checked against a list of known/notified absences, provide Heads of House and Administration Tutors with accurate information about student absences with supporting evidence

Communicate with parents regarding students who have missed class or who are enquiring about absence from school

Enter Excursions into Synergetic and distributing weekly Student Absences/Excursion report

Be a professional and informed point of contact for callers and direct to the appropriate person or take messages as required.

Attend to the reception desk duties, assisting all visitors including parents, staff, students, etc.
Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Employee Working with Children Clearance.
