About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated AML/CTF Support Officer to join our AML/CTF team and play a key role in supporting our financial crime framework.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop foundations in their AML/CTF career to further develop their expertise in a supportive, purpose‑driven banking environment. You’ll gain experience in transaction monitoring, investigations, regulatory reporting and program uplift activities.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Transaction Monitoring & Investigations
Review alerts and customer activity to identify unusual or suspicious behaviour
Conduct investigations and contribute to the preparation of Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs)
AML/CTF Reporting & Compliance
Support timely and accurate reporting to AUSTRAC in line with regulatory obligations
Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails
Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
Assist with onboarding reviews, KYC processes and enhanced due diligence activities
Support periodic reviews of higher-risk customers
Program Support & Uplift
Contribute to improvements in AML/CTF controls, processes and systems
Assist with internal reviews, audits and regulatory requests
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with frontline teams to support understanding of AML/CTF obligations
Provide practical, risk-based guidance to the business
Skills and Experiences:
About You
Prior experience in AML/CTF investigations, financial crime or compliance is preferred; however, candidates with extensive Line 1 banking experience will also be considered
Demonstrated understanding of the AML/CTF Act and AUSTRAC reporting requirements
Experience in one or more of:
transaction monitoring
investigations / case management
KYC / onboarding / CDD
Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
Developing confidence in stakeholder engagement
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
