PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Senior Power SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Design Engineer provides high level engineering, power systems SCADA design
and strategic advice for the delivery of SCADA services to relevant stakeholders. SCADA design engineering services cover architecture, asset
planning, design specification, configuration, installation, support and maintenance of the SCADA systems associated with the power, gas and
associated distribution networks throughout the Northern Territory. The Senior Power SCADA Design Engineer reports to the Manager Power SCADA
and contributes to delivery of outcomes by the broader Operational Technology function within the Core Operations business unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
- Meet internal and external customers’ needs through the delivery of SCADA engineering design services covering asset strategy and planning,
concept development, design specification, detailed design, configuration, installation, test and commissioning, support and lifecycle
management SCADA systems associated with the power, gas and associated distribution networks throughout the Northern Territory.
- Develop SCADA design strategies, standards, integration, testing and cutover plans for SCADA technology servicing power systems, including
RTUs, PLCs, HMI, time synchronisation and communications network and energy management system integration.
- Design islanding schemes and SCADA signalling for electricity network protection systems and be responsible for the development and review
of specification, implementation and commissioning.
- Develop SCADA technology obsolescence and replacement plans giving consideration to the future needs of PWC and advances in technology
and innovation.
- Meet internal and external customers’ needs through the delivery of SCADA services for capital projects, compliance initiatives, business case
development and reporting.
- Demonstrate a constructive leadership style including the ability to maintain a strong professional relationship with internal and external
stakeholders to ensure high levels of service are maintained with a positive outcome focus.
- Effectively manage resources within budget including equipment, internal personnel, contractors and vendors.
- Drive the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures and standards for the team to ensure the provision of accurate, robust SCADA
solutions.
- Support the management and technical development of the Power SCADA team and contribute to the development of the Operational
Technology function capability more broadly.
