We are seeking an experienced Full-time (38 hours p/w) Retail Manager (General) to manage the day-to-day operations of our retail butcher shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for staff supervision, inventory management, customer service, sales performance and ensuring the store maintains high standards of presentation, food safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage the daily operations of the retail butcher shop at Prahran
Market.
● Supervise, train and roster retail staff to ensure efficient store
operations.
● Oversee stock control, ordering, stock rotation and product availability.
● Maintain attractive product displays for premium meat, smallgoods,
sausages, burgers and ready-made products.
● Liaise with suppliers and producers to support consistent supply of
quality products.
● Monitor sales performance, pricing, margins and promotional activities.
● Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and
safety requirements.
● Manage customer inquiries, special orders and complaints
professionally.
● Support in-store and online sales operations, including product
availability and customer fulfillment.
● Implement procedures to improve store efficiency, customer
experience and profitability.
Skills and Experience
● Minimum 1—2 years' experience in retail management, store supervision
or a similar role.
● Strong leadership and staff management skills.
● Experience with stock control, ordering and retail operations.
● Excellent customer service and communication skills.
● Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
● Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements is highly
regarded.
● Experience in a butcher, fresh food, grocery, deli or hospitality retail
environment is desirable.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
