Challenger Security is seeking an experienced and motivated Security Team Leader to join our team at one of Melbourne's most prestigious commercial sites.

About the Role
Employment: Full Time
Classification: Level 5 – Security Services Industry Award
Roster: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:00pm
Must hold a current Victorian Security Licence with Control Room Operator endorsement.
As the Security Team Leader, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day security operations of the site. Working closely with the onsite Security Manager, you will provide leadership and support to the security team while ensuring operational excellence, compliance with site procedures, and outstanding customer service.
This position combines operational leadership with Control Room responsibilities, requiring you to coordinate daily security activities, respond to incidents, monitor security systems when required, and provide guidance and direction to officers across the site.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the daily operations of the onsite security team.

Provide guidance, coaching and direction to security officers to ensure high performance and compliance with site procedures.

Coordinate daily security activities and allocate resources as required.

Monitor and operate CCTV, access control and alarm systems when required.

Respond to incidents, emergencies and security breaches, ensuring appropriate action is taken.

Complete incident reports, shift reports and operational documentation accurately and promptly.

Liaise with the client, contractors and internal stakeholders in a professional manner.

Ensure all security procedures, legislative requirements and company policies are followed.

Assist the Security Manager with operational planning, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required

Current Victorian Security Licence with Control Room Operator endorsement.

Previous experience in a Security Team Leader, Supervisor or senior security position.

Experience working within premium commercial, corporate or high-profile environments.

Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

High attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Strong report writing and administrative skills.

Intermediate computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and security management systems.
