Carsy Motors is looking for a reliable and experienced Automotive Mechanic / Technician to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis.
We work with a large and constantly changing range of vehicles, from everyday passenger cars and hybrids through to 4WDs, European and performance vehicles.
We're looking for someone who is confident carrying out general mechanical work, inspections, servicing and repairs and who takes pride in completing work properly and efficiently.
About the Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- General mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Vehicle servicing, including oil and filter changes
- Brake, suspension and steering repairs
- Cooling system repairs and maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults
- Basic electrical fault diagnosis
- Using diagnostic scan tools
- Identifying mechanical issues during vehicle inspections
- Preparing vehicles for sale
- Inspecting newly acquired vehicles and identifying required repairs
- Carrying out repairs before vehicles are advertised or delivered
- Checking vehicles after repairs and confirming work has been completed correctly
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop
- Communicating required parts and repairs to management
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with hands-on automotive mechanical experience who can confidently work on a variety of vehicles.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working as a mechanic or automotive technician
- Be confident with servicing and general mechanical repairs
- Have good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Be able to work independently
- Work efficiently without compromising workmanship
- Have good attention to detail
- Be reliable and punctual
- Take responsibility for the quality of their work
- Be comfortable working on different makes and models
- Hold a valid Australian driver's licence
An Australian automotive trade qualification is highly regarded, however candidates with strong practical mechanical experience are also encouraged to apply.
Experience with European vehicles, diesel vehicles, 4WDs, hybrids or automotive diagnostics will also be highly regarded.
