About us:
Gladstone Hospital's four-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) provides care for acutely unwell patients who require a higher level of monitoring and support before returning to a general ward or transferring to a tertiary hospital. Gladstone Hospital provides cardiac and haemodynamic monitoring, inotropic support and invasive/non-invasive ventilation, as well as cardiac telemetry monitoring for patients across the medical and surgical wards.
The service also supports specialised outpatient testing, including cardiac stress tests, spirometry and pacemaker clinics. It's a service combining high-acuity care, cardiac monitoring and specialised outpatient services within Gladstone Hospital.
About the role:
Provide direct care to acutely ill patients in the High Dependency Unit, supported by the Clinical Nurse.
Deliver safe, evidence-based care through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation, responding confidently to changes in patient condition.
Work autonomously and collaboratively, taking accountability for your practice and contributing to an interdisciplinary team.
Support quality and learning by contributing to quality improvement, professional development, education and evidence-based practice.
Take a leadership role when required, including coordinating shifts, supporting colleagues and contributing to pathways that improve patient outcomes.
About you:
Current AHPRA registration and annual practising certificate as a Registered Nurse are mandatory; postgraduate qualifications are highly desirable.
Strong clinical capability, including comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation, with the ability to respond to rapidly changing patient needs.
Leadership and education skills, including supporting and providing direction to RNs, ENs and AINs, while contributing to professional development and the CQHHS Professional Practice Model.
Collaborative, patient-centred approach, with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team while contributing to quality improvement and better patient outcomes.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $128,480 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.79 p.h.
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
