What your day could look like
As a Clinical Midwife Consultant - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternity, you'll help improve maternal and newborn health outcomes while delivering culturally safe, woman-centred care across the region. Working with multidisciplinary teams and communities, you'll contribute to better experiences and outcomes for women, babies and families.
You will:
Lead culturally safe maternity initiatives for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families.
Provide expert clinical leadership, mentoring and support to midwifery teams.
Drive evidence-based practice, quality improvement and service development.
Build strong partnerships with health professionals, community stakeholders and families to strengthen models of care.

You're an experienced and respected midwifery leader who combines clinical expertise with compassion, integrity and collaboration. You're passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, babies and families, and thrive in environments focused on innovation, inclusion and continuous improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Current registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Demonstrated experience providing advanced clinical leadership and expert midwifery advice.
Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, change management and quality improvement.
A commitment to culturally safe care, professional development and mentoring others.
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery, Health Administration or Management.
Experience leading maternity service innovation and workforce development.
