ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for assisting with accounting, administration and operational functions of the club, critical to overall financial control and reporting.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will be responsible for:
- Accounts payable management including the processing of invoices and payment runs
- Accounts receivable management including raising invoices and debtor payment follow-up
- Process fortnightly casual payroll
- Financial management, including day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities, daily bank reconciliation and assisting with the completion of month and year-end accounting processes
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a team-oriented and self-motivated accounting professional to join our finance team.
The successful candidate will also have:
- Experience in a similar role (12-18 months)
- An accounting or business degree
- Commenced, or intention to commence, CA or CPA (desirable)
- The ability to take full ownership of tasks with responsibility through to completion
- Strong attention to detail and initiative
- Ability to set priorities, plan ahead and communicate if foresee missing deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Genuine willingness to learn new skills via on-the-job training
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Knowledge of accounting software
The successful candidate is required to undergo and pass a police check, and hold a current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check.
