About the role
The Production 2nd In Charge is a Full-time position, based at Yarraville, Victoria. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you'll be part of a team that are responsible for manufacturing high quality plaster products safely.
In this role you will:
- Assist the Production Supervisor in overseeing day-to-day production operations.
- Apply engineering knowledge to solve issues in a supportive and collaborative environment
- Supervise and support the production team to ensure high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are met.
- Apply hands-on leadership to production staff to drive alignment with company goals an
- Grow into training and mentoring new and existing production staff.
- Identify and resolve production issues, working closely with the team and wider business to improve processes.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, quality, and staff training.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through supporting our rollout of World Class Manufacturing, encouraging team input and feedback to optimise operational processes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Recent Engineering graduate, ideally with at least 1 year's experience in manufacturing, engineering or leadership roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team.
- Strong work ethic with proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Previous experience in training and developing staff is highly desirable.
