Care Fast is seeking two experienced Female Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide high-quality person-centred support within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment in Clyde North.
This is an opportunity for compassionate and skilled Support Workers who are confident supporting participants with complex support needs and passionate about creating a safe, predictable, and empowering environment.
About the Participant
The participant is a young adult living in a Supported Independent Living home in Clyde North. She enjoys music, movies, puzzles, games, dolls, creative activities, sensory activities, shopping outings, and community participation.
She benefits from consistent routines, familiar support workers, calm communication, visual supports, and a structured environment.
About the Role
The role involves providing 1:1 SIL support including weekday support and sleepover shifts.
Responsibilities include:
- Daily living activities and household routines
- Personal care and hygiene support
- Emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
- Communication support using clear instructions and visual supports
- Meal preparation and healthy lifestyle support
- Medication support and monitoring
- Community access and planned outings
- Supporting sensory regulation strategies
- Maintaining a safe and structured home environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred SIL support
- Support personal care routines while maintaining dignity and privacy
- Assist with household tasks including cooking, cleaning, and organisation
- Implement behaviour support strategies
- Recognise early warning signs and apply de-escalation strategies
- Use calm communication and structured routines
- Maintain accurate shift notes and documentation
- Work collaboratively with the participant’s support team
Essential Skills & Experience
Applicants should have:
- Previous NDIS SIL experience
- Experience supporting participants with complex disabilities
- Experience with Autism and Intellectual Disability
- Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support
- Experience managing behaviours of concern
- Confidence supporting personal care and daily living tasks
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm during challenging situations

Availability Requirements
Weekday Support:
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Sleepover Support:
4:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Friday Sleepover:
Regular ongoing staff required
