Basketball Officials (Referees, Bench Officials & Court Supervisors)
Easts Basketball is one of Sydney's leading community basketball organisations, delivering competitions and development programs for thousands of players each year.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic, reliable and confident Basketball Officials to join our growing game day and competition team.
Whether you are an experienced referee, an aspiring official, or someone looking to become more involved in basketball, we would love to hear from you.
About the Roles
We have a variety of officiating opportunities available across our junior and adult competitions, including:
- Referees
- Bench Officials (Scoring & Timing)
- Court Supervisors
Roles will be offered based on your experience, qualifications and interests, with training and mentoring provided where required.
Junior Competitions
Our junior competitions are played:
Sundays
Fridays
Opportunities include refereeing, bench officiating and court supervision.
Adult Social Competitions
Our adult competitions operate:
Sunday to Thursday
Roles include refereeing and bench officiating across a range of social basketball competitions.
Court Supervisor Opportunities
We are also seeking experienced officials to work as Court Supervisors during our junior competitions.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and developing referees
- Managing incidents and resolving on-court issues
- Assisting coaches and parents where required
- Ensuring competitions run smoothly
- Stepping in to referee or bench games when required
- Providing leadership and support to the officiating team

Requirements
- Valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Basketball experience preferred
- Right to work in Australia
Schedule
From flexible casual hours through to fixed shifts. Any combination of the following availability:
- Friday evenings
- Sunday availability - 8:00am – 3:00pm preferred
- Weeknight evening shifts - 6pm to 10pm - Sunday to Thursday
