Primary objective
The Building and Operations Manager (North) coordinates facility management, building maintenance, contractor services, security
systems, procurement and business support activities to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the Darwin Local
Court precinct and associated court facilities.
Context statement
The Building and Operations Manager (North) exercises initiative and judgement in resolving operational issues, coordinating
contractors and supporting business operations, and participates in after-hours responses for building and security incidents.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide operational, administrative and business support to the Principal Registrar and Director and Senior Registrar (North).
2. Coordinate building maintenance, facility improvements, security systems and contractor services across court facilities,
including monitoring works, conducting inspections and responding to operational issues
3. Administer building access, security processes and operational systems to support the safe and efficient operation of court
facilities.
4. Undertake procurement, contract administration and financial activities in accordance with Northern Territory Government
policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
5. Manage operational assets, facilities, equipment and business support services to ensure continuity of service delivery and
effective court operations.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High-level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with a broad
range of stakeholders.
2. Demonstrated experience in facility management, building maintenance coordination, contractor management and operational
service delivery.
3. Demonstrated experience in procurement, financial administration and contract administration processes.
4. Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects and meet competing
deadlines.
5. Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
6. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgement and problem-solving skills in a complex operational environment.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of Northern Territory Government procurement and contract management frameworks.
2. Experience in security systems administration, facilities coordination or contractor management.
