About the Role
The Full-Time Cook will prepare high-quality meals, maintaining consistency and food safety standards across all kitchen operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect ingredients and foodstuffs to ensure quality prior to preparation
- Monitor and regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and cooking equipment
- Prepare, cook, and present menu dishes using a variety of cooking techniques
- Season food appropriately throughout the cooking process
- Portion dishes and finish with gravies, sauces, and garnishes for service
- Store food correctly in temperature-controlled facilities per food safety standards
- Prepare meals to accommodate special dietary and allergen requirements
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control across all dishes
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent recognised qualification
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Cook
- If no trade qualification, then a minimum of 3 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant experience as a Cook
- Experience in authentic Indian cuisine
- Knowledge of regional Indian cooking styles
Job Type: Permanent Full-time
Salary: AU$ 80,000 – AU$ 85,000 per annum (plus Superannuation)
