- Hands-on Support: Assisting clients to sensitively sort, declutter, downsize, and organise their belongings.
- Logistics & Packing: Helping pack and unpack for house moves, and organising packing supplies.
- Coordination: Helping to identify valuable items for auction/online sale, transporting donation items, and coordinating ancillary services using our trusted provider list.
- Admin & Outreach: Spending about an hour a week on session planning, team meetings, professional development, and light administrative duties.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This role requires a unique blend of physical stamina and emotional intelligence. You will be a great fit if you have:
- A Heart for Community: A background in community services, caregiving, or working with vulnerable sectors is highly regarded.
- Exceptional Empathy: You are a great listener, compassionate, discreet, and sensitive to the mental health and emotional attachments of clients.
- Practical Life Experience: Strong household management skills, an eye for organisation, and great problem-solving initiatives.
- Physical Fitness: The role involves physical activity, including lifting, packing, and transporting items.
- Professional Standards: A strong work ethic, absolute commitment to client confidentiality, and strict adherence to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) procedures.
WHAT WE OFFER
- True Flexibility: A flexible, low-hour workload (approx. 10 hours/week) that easily fits around other life, family, or study commitments.
- A Supportive Environment: Comprehensive training materials, clear standard operating procedures, and regular team check-ins.
- Meaningful Work: The chance to make a tangible, positive impact on the lives of local Canberrans during major life transitions.
