This role contributes to the success of the City by supporting the effective planning and delivery of civil infrastructure maintenance across the Hobart municipal area. As Maintenance Scheduler, you will play an important part in coordinating routine, reactive and preventative maintenance works for roads and drainage, helping ensure works are planned, scheduled and delivered efficiently for the community.
Role accountabilities include:
- Developing and maintaining accurate schedules for routine, reactive and preventative maintenance works using the Conquest Asset Management System.
- Supporting Coordinators with the timely allocation of resources, equipment and personnel to scheduled tasks.
- Identifying opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency, reduce costs and enhance service delivery.
- Preparing Traffic Management Plans and Guidance Schemes.
- Supporting the delivery of minor contract works packages, including road de-icing, line marking, bridge maintenance and asphalt patching.
- Assisting with permits, risk assessments, safety documentation and reporting on maintenance performance, asset condition and service levels.

You are an organised and practical professional with experience in works planning and scheduling, ideally gained in a local government, utility, civil infrastructure or similar operational environment. You enjoy working in a busy, service-focused setting where priorities can shift, and you are confident managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.
You will bring strong administrative and organisational skills, sound communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members while providing courteous and effective interactions with the public. You will also have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and hold a current driver licence.
It would be advantageous if you also have qualifications or experience in civil construction, business administration, asset management, procurement and contracting, traffic management planning, or the use of asset management systems such as Conquest, Maximo or similar platforms.
