About The Role:
Play a key role in protecting and enhancing MRM's environmental performance by delivering monitoring and reporting programs, providing technical guidance, and supporting the achievement of environmental commitments and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordination and implementation of monitoring programs as per the Environmental Monitoring Schedule
Coordination of ad hoc sampling as directed by the Environmental Supervisor
Management of environmental monitoring data
Management of monitoring documentation (e.g. field sheets and lab submission forms)
Assistance with water discharges
Preparation of internal and external reports and data submission
Liaison with environmental laboratories, internal stakeholders and relevant consultant
Completion of Workplace Safety Observations and environmental inspections as per schedule
Identification of continuous improvement, efficiency opportunities and hazards
Key Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science (or similar)
Relevant demonstrated experience of at least 2 years working in mining or heavy industry is preferable
Experience in environmental data management systems
Competency in GIS mapping
The ability to communicate effectively; adapt to changing priorities and to work in a team and independently
A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
