Seasonal Casual | Cook / Chef
Club Berowra is looking for an experienced Cook or Chef to join our kitchen team for the busy season.
If you can handle a packed docket rail without disappearing into the cool room, know that “just one quick modification” is rarely quick, and can get through a busy Saturday night with your sense of humour intact, we’d like to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a busy commercial hospitality kitchen.
We’re looking for someone who is confident during high volume service, understands kitchen operations and food safety, can work across different sections and knows how to communicate when things get busy.
You’ll need to be reliable, organised, able to work under pressure and, most importantly, be a genuine team player.
Experience in a busy Club, pub, bistro or similar commercial kitchen environment will be highly regarded.
What You’ll Be Doing
Preparing and cooking meals to a consistent standard
Working across sections during busy lunch and dinner services
Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
Assisting with preparation and general kitchen operations
Working efficiently when the docket printer decides it has a personal vendetta against you
Supporting the kitchen team and jumping in where needed
Keeping your sense of humour when a customer’s modifications turn one menu item into an entirely new dish

You’ll be joining a hardworking and supportive kitchen team led by our small but mighty Head Chef.
She’s passionate, funny, occasionally fiery and takes great pride in the food leaving her kitchen.
She may be vertically deficient, but what she lacks in height she more than makes up for in personality.
Bring experience, a good work ethic and a sense of humour and you’ll fit right in.
