General Manager – Facility Services

Our Client is a growing facility services business based in Coolum Beach, delivering building maintenance, commercial cleaning, grounds maintenance and related property services across the Sunshine Coast and broader South East Queensland market. The business supports commercial and strata clients and is building a strong reputation for reliable service, practical solutions and responsive delivery.
An experienced and commercially minded General Manager is sought to lead operations, strengthen team performance, build client relationships and support the next stage of business growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable senior manager who is ready to step up into a broader General Manager role, or for an existing GM who wants the chance to make a bigger impact in a growing business.
About the role
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, financial results, workforce leadership, client management and business development. Working closely with the Managing Director, the successful candidate will help shape business direction, improve systems and processes, and lift performance across multiple service lines. There is genuine opportunity to grow with the business, expand the role over time and take on broader leadership influence as the company continues to develop. This role will suit someone who wants more ownership, more strategic involvement and a clear pathway to progress further in a General Manager capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the overall operational, commercial and strategic performance of the business.
- Oversee multi-site service delivery across cleaning, grounds maintenance, building maintenance and related services.
- Drive productivity, service quality, accountability and operational efficiency across teams and subcontractors.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, pricing, margin performance and contract outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and lead service reviews, escalations and contract discussions.
- Support tenders, proposals, business growth initiatives and market expansion opportunities.
- Lead, coach and develop managers, supervisors and operational staff.
- Champion safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the business.
About you
- You have senior leadership experience in facility services, cleaning, maintenance, property
- services or a similar operational business.
- You are commercially capable and confident managing budgets, financial performance and
- service contracts.
- You have experience leading multi-site teams and driving strong service outcomes.
- You are comfortable managing client relationships, negotiations and operational issues.
- You can work across systems and are familiar with platforms such as AroFlo, Simpro or similar job management software.
- You are ready for a role with broader responsibility, stronger influence and room to grow.
