What’s the role?
You’ll join our Model Risk team as a senior member of the independent validation function. This is a permanent, full time role based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country, where you’ll lead and complete independent validations across enterprise models spanning capital, financial crime, funding and liquidity, operational risk, conduct and compliance.
It's an exciting time to join the team. With investment secured to grow the Enterprise Models function and increasing focus on AI and machine learning across the Group, you'll have the opportunity to work on some of the bank's most strategic and evolving model risk challenges.
You’ll explore how models work, assess their methodology, implementation, data and documentation, and help strengthen model risk practices across the Group. You’ll build trusted relationships with business and risk stakeholders, guide junior team members and contribute to the responsible oversight of emerging areas, including the use of AI in enterprise models.
What do I need?
- Experience working in model validation or model development
- Programming skills using tools such as SAS, SQL, R or Python
- The ability to understand and interpret regulatory standards, financial statements and Pillar III reports
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical matters and challenge constructively
- Leadership or coaching experience, with the ability to support and guide junior team members
