Skills Institute Australia (SIA) is an expanding RTO, which provides high quality training and services to students in business, hospitality, English, automotive and construction courses.
SIA is looking for a suitable Full-time Administrative assistant for our Perth campus.
The Role
We are seeking a warm, organized, and proactive Admin Allrounder with a passion for helping students succeed to join our team at the SIA Perth Campus.
In this role, your primary focus (approx. 70%) will be providing end-to-end student support—serving as the first point of contact for student inquiries, onboarding, orientation, and wellbeing support. Your secondary focus (approx. 30%) will involve general campus administration, front desk coverage, and supporting day-to-day campus coordination.

Duties
1. Student Support & Services
(Primary Focus – ~70%)
- Student Onboarding & Orientation: Assist in planning and delivering new student orientations, campus tours, and welcome packs.
- First Contact & Inquiry Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for student inquiries regarding courses, timetables, policies, forms, and general campus life.
- Student Welfare & Engagement: Provide supportive non-academic guidance to students, assist with welfare inquiries, and refer students to specialized support services when needed.
- Student Records & Attendance: Maintain accurate student records in the Student Management System (SMS), assist with attendance tracking, and issue official documentation (transfers, letters of enrollment, student cards).
- Communication: Draft and distribute routine student announcements, newsletters, and policy updates across campus communication channels.
2. General Campus Administration & Front Desk
(Secondary Focus – ~30%)
- Reception & Front Desk Management: Manage the front desk workflow, welcoming visitors, students, and external stakeholders with high professionalism.
- General Administrative Support: Assist the Campus Manager and academic staff with filing, document preparation, meeting logistics, and routine admin tasks.
- Campus Operations Support: Help manage classroom room bookings, track office/classroom stationery inventory, and report facility maintenance issues.
- Event Assistance: Help organize campus cultural events, graduation ceremonies, workshops, and student activities.
Selection Criteria
- Experience: 2+ years in a customer service, student support, or administrative office role (prior experience in an RTO, VET, or Higher Education setting is highly regarded).
- Education: Qualifications in Business Administration, Customer Service, Education, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; empathetic, patient, and approachable demeanor.
- Tech Proficiency: Confident with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and experience using Student Management Systems (SMS) or CRM software.
- Attributes: High organization, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to connect with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
