Our restructuring and insolvency team acts for large corporate clients, major Australian Banks and Financiers and insolvency practitioners. Our team acts in commercial litigation matters in all Courts and provides advice on all forms of insolvency and restructuring including liquidations, receiverships, voluntary administrations, securities enforcement and bankruptcies.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Lawyer to join our high performing team who regularly act in large commercial disputes and Australian insolvency/restructuring matters.
Working with partners Andrew Chambers and Nicole Ward, the successful applicant will have significant exposure to a broad range of commercial litigation, receiverships, securities enforcement, liquidations, voluntary administrations, restructuring, and banking/loan recovery litigation.
What does the role involve?
- Advising large corporate and government clients, including the Australian Taxation Office with a focus on general commercial disputes and insolvency/restructuring matters
- Acting for major Australian banks and accountants advising on loan recovery, securities enforcement, receiverships, corporate restructuring, liquidations, voluntary administrations and bankruptcies
- Acting for clients in a range of different industries including technology, agribusiness, manufacturing, distribution and retail, financial services, health, education, private equity, mining and not for profit sectors
- Regularly attending court when required for client matter appearances
- Participating in business development and client relationship activities
- Interacting with clients and liaising with colleagues in other offices and practice areas around the globe
About you

You will ideally have 2 - 5 years PQE and prior experience working in a similar size firm in Insolvency and General Litigation. You should be proactive in your approach and possess strong problem-solving skills. A high level of client service is expected as are excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills.
