Key Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments and manage patient bookings efficiently across multiple providers.
- Maintain accurate patient records and uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Process referrals, clinical correspondence, and medical reports in a timely manner.
- Liaise effectively with patients, treating specialists, GPs, and hospitals.
- Manage billing processes including Medicare, DVA, and private health fund claims.
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks as required.
- Ensure the reception area and administrative systems remain welcoming and well-organised.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of practice processes and workflows.
What We Are Looking For
- 2 years’ experience in a medical, specialist, or healthcare administration role preferred by not essential.
- Demonstrated experience with practice management software (e.g., Best Practice, Genie, or similar) preferred.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare billing, and referral workflows preferred.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills — both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team across multiple locations.
- Professional, patient-centred approach with a commitment to confidentiality.
