About the team
Hospitality Operations is an operational team within Major Venues responsible for delivering food and beverage services, event catering and hospitality experiences across the City's sporting venues and facilities. The team supports a diverse range of activities including community sport and recreation, high performance sport, competitions and major events, while contributing to positive customer, community and commercial outcomes.
About the role
The City is looking for a Food and Beverage Duty Supervisor to join our major venues team. Working alongside our Hospitality Operations leaders, you will lead the day to day delivery of our food and beverage operations, ensuring we meet our smooth and outstanding service standards. Key responsibilities:
Lead and support hospitality teams during shifts, fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
Coordinate staffing breaks and absences to meet changing service demands.
Maintain high standards of outlet presentation, product quality and customer service.
Oversee stock management, ordering and replenishment while minimising waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, WHS and cash handling requirements.
Coach and support team members to build capability, confidence and engagement.
Coordinate catering and service delivery for meetings, functions and major sporting events.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control and the customer experience.
Support emergency response requirements, including acting as an Area Fire Warden when required.
We’re looking for people who have:
Demonstrated experience in food and beverage, hospitality, catering, events or venue operations
Demonstrated experience supervising employees or coordinating operational activities in a customer service environment.
Ability to work flexibly across a 7-day operation, including weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
Hold or be willing to obtain any licenses, clearances or certifications required to perform the role, including:
Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted
National Police Check
Forklift licence
Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification.
Current Food Safety Supervisor certification, or the ability to obtain and maintain the certification.
