Environ Metal Designs is seeking a reliable Factory Hand and Saw Operator to measure and cut aluminium components using a Brobo cold saw in our Keysborough fabrication workshop.
From our Keysborough workshop, we manufacture planter boxes, window shrouds, sunshades, balustrades and other custom aluminium systems for builders and architects.
About the role
Your primary responsibility will be measuring and cutting aluminium components using a Brobo cold saw. You will also assist with general workshop duties, product preparation and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
As your experience develops, you will have the opportunity to learn how to read fabrication drawings, cutting lists and job specifications, and understand how individual components form part of a completed architectural product.
Key responsibilities
- Measure, mark and cut aluminium components using a Brobo cold saw
- Follow cutting lists, job instructions and production priorities
- Label, organise and prepare cut components for fabrication
- Carry out product quality checks during different stages of production
- Identify and report incorrect dimensions, damaged materials or quality concerns
- Assist with drilling, deburring, grinding, cleaning and product preparation
- Assist the fabrication team with other general workshop duties when required
- Follow company procedures, safety requirements and quality standards
About you
You will be a good fit for this role if you:
- Have previous experience in a factory, workshop, manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
- Can confidently use measuring tools and check dimensions accurately
- Have experience operating a cold saw, drop saw, bandsaw or similar machinery
- Pay close attention to measurements, quantities and product quality
- Can follow cutting lists and written job instructions
- Are reliable, punctual and comfortable working as part of a production team
- Are physically fit and capable of handling aluminium components and completing practical workshop tasks
- Have valid Australian working rights
