Silver Yachts Australia Pty Ltd is a specialist manufacturer and installer of bespoke luxury superyacht interiors, combining innovative design with exceptional craftsmanship to deliver world-class interiors for luxury superyachts. Based in Bibra Lake, Perth WA, we are seeking a skilled Boat Builder to join our production team and contribute to the construction, assembly and installation of high-end yacht interiors and structural components.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Boat Builder to carry out hands-on construction, assembly, installation and finishing of timber, composite and metal components for our superyacht projects. Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications, you will deliver work to the highest standards of quality and finish, both in our Bibra Lake workshop and onsite at vessel commissioning locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct, assemble and install timber, composite and metal components for superyacht interiors and structures in accordance with design specifications and project drawings.
- Perform onsite installation of joinery, furnishings, systems and equipment during vessel commissioning, including at vessel delivery locations such as Perth, WA.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, material specifications and production documentation.
- Operate hand and power tools, workshop machinery and installation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Undertake surface preparation, finishing, quality inspection and rectification of non-conformances.
- Liaise with Design, Engineering and Project teams to resolve manufacturing and installation issues.
- Provide practical, on-the-floor guidance and mentoring to junior tradespeople and apprentices.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment in line with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
Skills & Experience Required (Essential)
- 3 years Demonstrated experience as a Boat Builder or Shipwright,
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings, specifications and production documentation.
- Strong practical skills in timber and composite fabrication, assembly and installation.
- Experience installing marine systems, equipment and interior components.
- Sound knowledge of WHS practices in workshop and site environments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, skilled team.
Essential:
- 3 years’ experience working on luxury vessels, superyachts or complex refit projects.
- Experience as a leading hand or team leader on the workshop floor.
Desirable:
- Experience coordinating with overseas shipbuilding operations.
